Did you ever do any road tripping with your family as a kid? Parents up front, you in the back seat of the car with your siblings. Do you remember a common question that might have been shouted from either you or your brother or sister? I know I do.

Are we there YET?

And the reply would often be, “Almost. Just a short little while. We are almost there.” This was pacifying for about 15 minutes until someone else just couldn’t stand it any more and shouted, “Are we there yet? How much longer?”

Many people have this same question about spiritual and personal growth. As if there is some place where they arrive and then everything will finally be ok. They won’t feel any pain, their life will flow with ease and grace. They will understand IT (whatever that might be) and feel and be completely enlightened. They will have arrived and there will only be prancing unicorns, magical rainbows, lollipops and peace. Finally, peace.

You might be giggling as I’m sure that you can relate to this. Has this ever crossed your mind? I know it has mine.

But there is this cool thing called the ‘plus element’, which means that no matter how enlightened and evolved someone is on their path, there is always another step. More to learn, discover and experience.

So if you are waiting to arrive and for your life to magically get easy, you will be waiting for a long time.

It is about choosing a life of gratitude, ease and grace now. How can you feel that now in your life? What might be holding you back, or blocking you from experiencing this now?

Stop waiting. Accept that there is always another step and keep taking steps to live your fullest life now.
